One of the most iconic locomotive of all time and certainly one of the most handsome, the A4 Locomotive was designed by Sir Nigel Gresley and came into service in 1935. 35 were made and all were named.

Perhaps the most famous of all, Mallard reached speed of 126mph in 1938 and still holds the record for the worlds fastest steam train. A4 Pacific Locomotives were in service until the 1960's and several including Mallard survived into preservation. Dapols fine rendition of the A4 includes the following. Finely moulded valanced body and tender with many separately added fine details. Models include tender and chimney variations.

DCC fitted with a Imperium 5 6 pin 2 function decoder. Cast Wheels with fine relief and appropriate colouring.

Dapols tender drive system that delivers power to the locomotive wheels. Super Creep Motor for controlled pulling power with fine slow speed control. Accessory bag with spares and other added detail parts.
