Athearn Genesis HO Illinois Central Gulf GP38-2 #9567 (DCC + Tsunami2 Sound). A rare opportunity to acquire one of the latest release Athearn GP38-2s, DCC with factory-fitted Tsunami2 sound and LED lighting, boxed complete as new in the UK! The loco itself performs 100% perfectly, with excellent, smooth slow speed running - the F14 half speed option will give you less than walking pace - all super-smooth. It features factory-fitted twin sugar cube speakers, and the sounds are highly-configurable - eg you have a choice of 39 different horns, 14 bells, and there's a crew radio chatter option too! The GP38-2 is a NON turbo-fitted loco, so please be aware the prime mover sound is typical of GM/EMD 645 non-turbo "roots blower" sound.

The lighting effects on this model are limited to (dimmable) twin LED headlights at each end. All details, handrails, steps, hoses, couplers etc are all intact, with no damage. As is typical with these models, the side walkway handrail stanchions have a tendancy to pop-out along the solebar; I have resisted fixing these with a minute spot of glue - I'll leave that to the new owner if they so wish. The model comes complete with all original packaging, accessory pack and documention.

Everything is in excellent condition, indistinguishable from brand new. The model's on-board DCC decoder is configured to the factory default settings, with a loco address of 3. Please check over the pictures carefully, as these effectively form part of the description.
