ELECTROTREN 4140 RENFE CLASS 141 MIKADO ESTADO EN MUSEO MUSEUM VERSION DCC READY. We hope that you understand. You will find some helpful information which I have taken from the enclosed instructions. For those who don't know, HO gauge locos and rolling stock run on the same track as OO gauge locos and rolling stock.

This beautiful loco is the museum version. There is a red spot on the end of the box label, as shown in the final picture, and it looks as though Electrotren originally had a different label on the end of this box. We have had a few like this. It is a beautifully made, incredibly well detailed loco that ran as good as it looks when I test ran just before photographing it. Because this loco was made a number of years ago there are some tiny spots of black paint on the side handles which are a bit pale.

Again, because it was made a number of years ago, it may require a light lubrication (as in the loco's instructions), before being put to much use. This is the DCC and DCC Sound Ready version. This means that it will run as it is on an analogue layout and would only need a digital or digital sound decoder (neither included) push fitted into its tender socket for digital operation, or a digital sound decoder pushed in and a speaker fitted into the circular holder in the tender chassis.

Electrotren do include specific instructions about using a recommended decoder (see one of the photos) so that the lights work properly. This loco has three white front lights and three red rear lights, which are in analogue mode are permanently lit, and an additional white rear light when the loco is running in reverse.

Please note that this incredibly well detailed loco is not suitable for youngsters unless they have learned to be very careful with their model railway items. Because this loco was made a number of years ago, and has a fairly complex box interior with a lot of protective soft'rubber' fitting strips it may well be quite tightly fitted in, so it may well need easing out gently. Please do not try and just lift it out with one hand, but gently ease it out, taking care not to hold onto the red-stripe waistline because you could damage the loco.
