Best of both worlds, DC or DCC and here is how it works. By removing the shell and locating the 9pin dummy plug (sits on top of the board) and replacing it with the supplied 9pin DCC decoder (small chip that will come with it in the package) you will turn this engine into a fully functioning DCC (without sound) locomotive and you can switch back to DC again by installing the dummy plug back on.

Very simple and it takes not even 2min to do so, or i'd be happy to do that for you if you wish. Comes with knuckle style couplers but you can easily change to the old school horn hook couplers if you wish or I can do that for you at no charge. Brand new in box and only removed from box to take pictures, and test it out to make sure all is in great working order. Lots of fantastic detail's on this engine. Runs like new because it is new. Lubed and ready to be put on your layout. Pictures are taken on my personal home layout to show that im not a dealer (just another train fanatic like yourself) and I assure you that your getting a good product because I TEST THEM for you. Box is included and will be packaged well.
