Hornby R3833 Thompson A2/3 514 Chamossaire LNER OO Gauge DCC Ready BNIB
This is a Hornby R3833 00 gauge model of BR Thompson A2/3 Pacific 514 Chamossaire, in LNER Green. The A2/3 Pacifics came into existence as a result of a war time need to simplify and standardise the LNER Locomotive fleet, the design of the A2/3 pacifics was based on the rebuilt P2 locomotives, albeit with a number of modifications. The first A2/3 was built in 1946, just a month before Edward Thompsons retirement. 514 Chamossaire entered traffic 28th September 1946 at Kings Cross, moving to Peterborough New England on the 19th December 1948. Chamossaire was renumbered to 60514 by BR on 23rd March 1948 and was a late recipient of the Type 118 boilerin 1961.
